Everything is coming up roses

I hope: Everything is coming up roses.
"come up roses" is an expression I just now learned. I think I have grasped it.
I remember, on Mid-Autumn Day, I, with my good friend climbed Baiyun Mountain. At that time, going for a walk along the path, we played a joke that we each made three wishes. Anyway, they must be related to heath, family, work, etc. All in all, that is, we hope everything's coming up roses. For everyone, so it is. No exception. It is so.

Idioms about colour

When reading, we can meet some idioms or expressions with different colours. Personally, I accumulated some, such as white lies, black sheep, green hand, red tape, black and blue etc. However, this is just the tip of the iceberg. I never think of any good method to remember or understand them effectively. I coincidently browsed a web, where these color idioms were taught in a story. That is to say, in a context. So cool. To tell the truth, I like this. Share it with all of you:
A Silver Lining ( And there is an audio file, ^-^ )
P.S: A little long. Patient, please. I benefit much from it. I think you also can.

English study plan

In an instant, days are gone without any hesitation. The last quarter of a year. A complete blank. I am good at making plans but they will finally be a complete blank too. ...... Now I wanna grasp the tail of this year. Make an English-study plan now:
1) Listening: At least 20 min per day
2) Reading: news, blogs, or other materials (^-^ I can insist on this one )
3) Translating: 2 short passages per week
4) Writing: blogging often

Jasmine

I bought a potted jasmine to my home yesterday. To my surprise, there are still two buds on it. It is said that the flower blossoms usually from June to October. Pity that now is already late October. Have no idea whether it will blossom. Expecting it will bring me a new life, promising, fantastic life!

Recomend a good software ---CRadio

The other day, one of my net-pal recommended a good software to me, that is CRadio. It is totally free and with no malware and plug-in of advertisements. These days, I indulged in the music sea. Especially those old songs, which recalled the past. Cool!
CRadio embodies more than 3,000 broadcasting stations, including finance and economics, entertainment, city news, foreign broadcasting stations, popular music, rock & roll, jazz, folk music, and symphony etc.
It can also play local media files, supporting updating online, built-in recording, shifting skins, multilingual service, hotkey operation, automatic reconnection, timing recording, timing playing, timing shutdown, and talking clock, etc.
Why not have a try?

A New Employee

Just now, I read a humour:

A New Employee
Several weeks after a young man had been hired, he was called into the personnel director's office.

"What is the meaning of this?" the director asked. "When you applied for the job, you told us you had five years' experience. Now we discover this is the first job you ever held."

"Well," the young man said. “in your advertisement you said you wanted somebody with imagination."

Clara: If you were asked like that, what would you say? haha And if you were the personnel director, what would you do then? ^-^ Are there any interesting or "dangerous" experience in your job interview? Did you escape?

What is melamine?

The other day, I hung out. At the window of some stores on the roadside, I saw " ** Milk, buy one and get another free". In some supermarkets, so it is. And in Guangzhou, local milk products are more popular. All of these because of the Sanlu Milk scandal, Sanlu Milk products were tested with the highest content of melamine. Before this incident, I was not familiar with the word, melamine. What is melamine?
Melamine is an organic base chemical most commonly found in the form of white crystals rich in nitrogen
What is melamine generally used for?
Melamine is widely used in plastics, adhesives, countertops, dishware, whiteboards.
Why was melamine added into milk and powdered infant formula?

In China, where adulteration has occurred, water has been added to raw milk to increase its volume. As a result of this dilution the milk has a lower protein concentration. Companies using the milk for further production (e.g. of powdered infant formula) normally check the protein level through a test measuring nitrogen content. The addition of melamine increases the nitrogen content of the milk and therefore its apparent protein content.

Addition of melamine into food is not approved by the FAO/WHO Codex Alimentarius (food standard commission), or by any national authorities.

What are the health effects of melamine consumptions in humans?

While there are no direct human studies on the effect of melamine data from animal studies can be used to predict adverse health effects. Melamine alone causes bladder stones in animal tests. When combined with cyanuric acid, which may also be present in melamine powder, melamine can form crystals that can give rise to kidney stones.

These small crystals can also block the small tubes in the kidney potentially stopping the production of urine, causing kidney failure and, in some cases, death. Melamine has also been shown to have carcinogenic effects in animals in certain circumstances, but there is insufficient evidence to make a judgment on carcinogenic risk in humans.

The above quotation is linked from http://www.who.int

I'm blue

Today, I am in low mood without any reason. I don't know the reason. Just annoyed. Maybe I am suffered from Holiday Syndrome. On the first day off, I was relaxed. That day I didn't sleep over like usual. I got up early and did some cleaning. I found when I cleaned the room, I was always happy. I didn't open my cellphone or PC whole day. However, today, I was not. I didn't want to do anything. Having no choice, I listened to music to adjust myself. In fact, I am not used to making myself public. Don't laugh at me. ....... Tomorrow going to enjoy the sunshine ......

I can use Google Analytics

I can use Google Analytics at last. Maybe it is not difficult for some people. However, I tried many times on my own. Failure after failure, now it is OK. So cool. Words cannot convey how delighted I was. I can know how many visitors come to my blog every day. I can learn where they come from. And how do they know my blog. Great progress. Up to today, the visitors mainly come from ①China, ②United states, ③Australia, ④Egypt, ⑤Venezuela, ⑥United Kingdom, ⑦Canada, ⑧Mexico and ⑨Singapore.

Google my hometown

Today, I played Google Map and found my hometown --- a town (A & B in the pictures) along the border with Russia. Terrific! That's a small town in Luobei county, Hegang city, Heilongjiang, China. A quiet place with 600 square kilometres, with the population of more than 20,000.

Speak English Like An American

The other day, one net pal shared a book Speak English Like An American (PDF) with me. Meantime, she sent me the audio files. I do appreciate it. I have to say it is really a good book.

  • Over 300 of today's most common American English idioms & phrases
  • Several usage examples of each idiom
  • Dozens of exercises to reinforce the material - complete with answer key so you can correct yourself
  • Crossword puzzles to practice your new expressions
  • 25 lively dialogues - the entertaining story of an American family, complete with illustrations

There is a comment catching my eyes:

This book doesn't cost an arm and a leg, so, for heaven's
sake, foot the bill, hit the books and have a blast. It's all the rage.
---The Norwalk Hour

Is this comment a good one? Six idioms in one sentence. COOL

Mid-autumn Day is around the corner

( lantern riddles )

Mid-autumn Day is on the way. Another Day I will spend without my parents, my sister and my brother. Since I graduated from senior school, almost spend it outside. In fact, in China, Mid-autumn Day is really a traditional Day when all family get together, chat cheerly and enjoy the moon. Of course don't forget those delicious mooncakes. To some extent, it is just like Thanksgiving Day in the USA.

For me, Mid-autumn Day is more different and meaningful. Cos it is also my father's birthday. Far away from home, here, I give my best regards to my dear father: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, dad. May you happy, healthy... ^_^

(P.S: The pictures of our office, taken by my colleague)

Autumn Leaves

On the way back from the dinning room, we strolled along the path. The falling leaves remind me of the song Autumn Leaves. Seems that I listened to this song for the first time about more than 1 year ago. That day, I got a PPT, on opening it gentle music flowed out with fantastic pictures, full of the room. Now a pity that I can't find the PPT, I am eager to feel it again.

(by Eva Cassidy)
The falling leaves drift by the window
The autumn leaves of red and gold
I see your lips, the summer kisses
The sunburned hand I used to hold
Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I'll hear old winter's song
But I miss you most of all, my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall
I see your lips, the summer kisses
The sunburned hand I used to hold
Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I'll hear old winter's song
But I miss you most of all, my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall
P.S: The version of Clay Aiken is another different feeling. So great!

No jaywalking

Learned a word today. It is
Jaywalking is a term used to describe when a pedestrian crosses the street outside designated crossing areas. In common North American use, the term generally refers to someone crossing a major street outside a designated crosswalk or intersection in jurisdictions where this is illegal.
In big cities, like Guangzhou, there are more and more cars on the street. Most of people will obey the traffic rules. However, there is always exception. Some of people will choose to neglect the warning sign. One of opinions is " If I can cross without danger and without forcing car to slow down, then I cross. What is the point to wait??? " Let's imagine, if everyone think like that, what's the case? So, No jaywalking.
In fact, nowadays, more and more people pay attention to environment friendly. It is encouraged to make good use of public transportation. In some places, "Stop driving for a day." has been proposed.

Weekend

Since I can have two days off per week, I didn't have a better idea how to spend it well. Undoubtedly, I can have a good rest. Without exception I can sleep until 12 a.m. if no one disturbed me. It frees myself from one week's fatigue. In the afternoon I usually do some cleaning, do some washing. When all is done, I am so happy from my heart. Sometimes I enjoy a lot from it. Then it's time to watch TV or surf in the net. In fact, I have been planning to jog at dark. However, it is in the air due to my lazyness. As for Sunday, I sometimes go shopping, get together with friends. Anyway, shopping is not my favorite. Really not. I am thinking of what my life will be in the future.

Credit card

This afternoon, I applied a credit card of Minsheng Bank. Before this, I have never had any credit card. On the one hand, out of the consideration of safty; on the other hand, I think it unnecessary for me. So I am so firm all the way, although many of colleagues around me have many different cards from different banks. To be frank, I didn't know more about credit cards. In order to make good use it and control my expense, I have to learn some via the Internet right now. After all, there are so much experience from others. Just FMI. Of course coins have two sides.

hit the sack

Tonight I learned a useful expression: hit the sack. I learned it from Teacher Kay when chatting with her via skype. The other day I was surfing on the net. Incidentally, I got a link from which I can get a PDF file for free. So great that I sent an email without any hesitant. Thus I knew her.

Do you know its meaning? Haha, that is, go to bed. I don't know it until now. I found I can't change my expressing mode flexibly, always the same one. I must learn express the same meaning in different ways. haha I'm beat. I'm gotta hit the sack now.

Hot Women Volleyball

Tonight I watched Volleyball (women) Game between China and Poland. Really a highly competitive match. You know, Poland is also an awesome team. The opponent won the first round at 25:22. However, to our joy, our volleyball girls adjusted themselves well. They won the following 3 rounds. So great. Some of members are especially excellant. Yang Hao, Zhao Ruirui, you are all awesome. You don't know, when matching, how nervous I was! Just like I was together with them, like I was on the spot. hehe Later on we will meet other competitive opponet, the USA, Cuba etc. Good Luck, Chinese Volleyball girls.

Excellant 2008 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony

We can say the Opening Ceremony of Beijing 2008 is very perfect, very satisfying. It left many shockings to all the people, all the world, such as the theme song, the smiling face, the igniting of Olympic flame. What impressed me is the 29 big footprints. They are so touching, so extra-imagination. It's really like a giant approaching the bird's nest, approaching Bj. All in all, the ceremony is spectacular. Full of Chinese traditional elements. For Chinese, it is complete different and exciting. Let alone for the foreigners. The 1st gold medal was won by Zheng Xiexia, who is an weightlifting athlete. Congrats.
Come on, Beijing! Come on, China!

Typhoon

Today is the seventh day of the seventh month in Chinese lunar year. Meantime, it is also the Beginning of Autumn. These days it is not that hot, but heavy rain and wind. It is good that it rains heavily at night. It is said that it's due to the typoon "Beimian". Before coming to GZ, I have no any concept about typhoon. Just know it from the textbook. However, off the coast typhoon is common to see. Typhoon Neoguri、Typhoon Fengshen、Typhoon Kalmaegi、Typhoon Fung-Wong、Typhoon Beimian, one by one. Basically, typhoon always occurs in July and August. Always do great damage. Please take care.

Poor sanitation

Today I chatted with a friend. When talking about the hot days recently, he said it was necessary to get a house in a northern city. It is unfit for living in Guangzhou gradually. Hehe, for the majority of job chances, more and more people come in flocks. To be true, GZ is an inclusive city. Different kinds of people can make livings here. On the one hand they brought great treasure to it, and on the other hand, also brought some disadvantages. For instance, crime, poor sanitation, etc. We can see the propaganda "creat a national sanitation city" here and there, but it's really not deserve our compliment. It can't compare with Shanghai, Qingdao at all. ...

Moved a new flat

Tonight I moved a new apartment. In fact, "flat" and "apartment" are not proper. But who care? Although not many things, I clear and clean for a long time. So tired. Compared with the former one, this is more comfortable to live in. Bigger, cleaner ... I have been in that small room for one year and nine months. I admire myself for stay so long. lol Have a good dream tonight. Thank God. Tomorrow is weekend. And I am planning to get up late for a good rest ... hehe

About me

This is Clara. I seldom introduce myself formally except those resumes. I have no idea how to describe or estimate myself. Just a simple person, nothing more. Clara, this is a coinage name, from the similar pronunciation of " clever ". Others always don't know how to read it properly. They always mistake it as KOALA. Thus, I got a nickname koala ( in Chinese Kao3 la1) . Gosh. To be frank, I like this cute name.

Now I am 30. So terrible. I always sigh for the flying time. And always regret for what I did wrong, for what I miss, for many others. All the way I want to be a girl with strong will. But now I don't want to kill time any more. Hehe. Definitely.

I like reading, collecting stamps, surfing on the net, climbing hills and travelling. Although I stepped few places of interest, I have the wish going more sights in my life. I would like to communicate with others, exchange ideas, broaden eyes. No more to tell, dig more from my blog yourself. hahahah

Trip to Big Hippo Water World

Today we went to Big Hippo Water World in the hot sun. I tried almost every one, for example, the Riptide, the Gyral Pipe, Swimming pool, Surfing board, etc. But the vertical one, I dare not to try. After playing, you will adapt to it, not that frightened. In fact, I am frightened of water. I think, it is unpredictable, changeable. But this time I take a challenge. Not only enjoyed comfortable one, but also experienced exciting ones. When I floated on the water, moving with the water up and down, I am so comfortable. Although sometimes water went into my eyes, nose, mouth, I made it. Hooray!

Fish follow the bait

No Free Lunch, really true. For something, you must, have to, pay for that. Absolutely.

I fell into the trap again. Maybe you had likewise experience, too. What happens is that you get a certain information, for example, answer some quesions by text messages stey by step, and you'll gain some ( e.g: call charges, QQ coins, etc. ). Reply once, it will charge you 2 yuan. At the beginning, it will offer quite easy questions. An example, ?+3=4, or ?*4=8. Easy enough and you will follow the bait and go on replying. However, when it is going on the 5th question maybe the trap is waiting for you. E.g: This question is: Find out the regular pattern and fill in the missing number ( 3, ?, 9, 17, 33 ). No doubt the answer is 5. Congrats. Then the following is: finding the missing number ( 7, 10, ?, 12, 11, 14 ). My answer is 9. It's right, I think. But it told you are wrong. So you can't get what you want. Gosh. A trick.

In a word, when you go after small gains you may suffer big loss.

Practice listening now, do it now!!

I'm determined to improve my English listening. So recently almost everyday I have been urging myself to listen. Up to now I have insisted on it for two days. The effect is not bad. I have confidence that I can make it. lol Come on, Clara, if you think you can, you can!

Step Up

"You all know what you would like to have" " What about you? What do you want?""It's nothing. For me, if it doesn't happen, it doesn't matter."

The above is excerpt from the film Step Up. One of friends recommended it to me. Really good it is. Full of excellant and hot dances. It will absolutely attract your eyes. You will be motivated by the youth and vigor. Especially that part of the hero and heroine are dancing at the pier. The scenery is very very very beautiful. Nothing to say more, go to see it, haha...

Gloomy

At noon, I went to the Agriculture Bank of China for something. But the hall was full of people, long queue. Always it is. You must spend several hours to make it. What's worse, sometimes it's your turn at last. What happened, you guess? Business suspend, or something wrong with the computer, or other issues. I experienced like this: I want to save some money at ATM. Waiting for a long time, I didn't cos the machine can't work. Gloomy...

When at the crossroad

In the life, we always have chances that we must make choices. Sometimes we can have a few ideas, but most of time we have only one answer. It's really a dilemma. Where to go on earth? Whether your decision is right or not plays an important role to the later development. During these years, I missed much, and made some improper choices. Sometimes I asked myself if only I had another chance, what shall I do? In fact, "choose", it is a problem itself, isn't it?

A joke

Too tired to blog today, so post a joke here to relax...
Once there were three turtles. One day they decided to go on a picnic. Then they got there, they realized they had forgotten the soda. The
youngest turtle said he would go home and get it if they wouldn't eat the
sandwiches until he got back. A week went by, then a month, finally a year, when the two turtles said, "Oh, come on, let's eat the sandwiches." Suddenly the little turtle popped up from behind a rock and said, "If you do, I won't go!"

Dollar Tree

I heard of Dollar Tree for the first time from Esteban. He did a part-time job there during the summar vacation. It is said that Dollar Tree is an American chain of retail stores, in which all goods are sold at $1 at most. And he told me most of goods are made in China. Oh-oh... Many different kinds of items. For example, food, drink, kitchen items, living goods, ect. I guess, it is similar to 2-yuan store in China. The policy is: Small profits and quick returns.

All along, I admire those who stand out in character. Strong will, continuously persistence, tough mind, etc. Generally speaking, one who has these characters will succeed in a certain field. I just lack of the qualities. hehe I always make many plans, always have this of that kinda ideas, always make up my mind to do sth. , but finally I seldom insist. Some of them even didn't begin. I should set sb. as my example, and urge me to learn from him.

Quality & Service

There is something wrong with my PC so that I didn't blog last night. It's the 2nd time that I have to phone Dell Customer Service ( 800-858-0950 ) for help. Last time I couldn't link to the internet. This time, what's worse, it's even power off. It can't work at all. So gloomy I am. Nevertheless, they are kind and patient to solve the problem. I should say their attitude is top and perfect. Wish the products are as good as the service. ^_^
Facing the fierce competition, every enterprise will try every means. Advertising campaigns, sales strategies, etc. They will do whatever they can do so as to stand out in a world full of competition. Without any doubt, besides what mentioned above, quality and service are two important cards. They directly play a decisive role in the success of sale. If quality is premise, service is guarantee. They both make a difference. Someone thinks service itself is a commodity. What do you think?

It was a pity that my Xianrenqiu died. It was just with me four months. It was a birthday gift. I put it near the computer. I looked at it when I was at work every day. I looked after it carefully. Do you know buffer fund?

This afternoon when browsing the news on CRIENGLISH, I paid attention to "buffer fund". To be true, when it comes to economic matters, I'm completely at sea. I'm a layman. I seldom read economic news. But you know, stock market has been down for a long time. At this time of last year some people predicted that stock market would be up, at least be even until the Olympic Games. However, things went contrary to everyone's wish, down...down ...down last 8 months or so up to now. From 6000 points to 2500 points ........So at the moment, I read the news, learning sth. about buffer fund as following:
A buffer fund, or an intervention fund, is designed to stabilize an overheated or an unreasonably slumping capital market. It's a legal fund established by certain official organizations, such as securities watchdogs, finance departments and stock exchanges.
It is really complicated for me. Will the buffer fund be launch? Will it save the market?

DH Character --- Lynette

Lynette was a successful office lady at first, who was gumptious and going to climb the corporate ladder. When she got pregnant she had to be a housewife. Although that was not what she wanted. She looked after four children at home. Naughty boys always made her headache. She must rack her brains to cope with them, but they always drove her crazy. What's worse, her husband Tom often was on a business trip. We have to say, Lynette is both a qualified wife and mother. Frustrated by the kids, Lynette managed to hire a nanny, who is really helpful. However, another problem occured. Yes, it is a temptation. You know, every wife will find solutions once she notices. ...... Lynette defended her marriage and watched out for Tom's former lover. So she arranged another company to hunt that lady. But things went contrary to her wishes, it did help the lady be promoted. Tom quitted his job out of anger to be a stay-at-home father. All was solved. Lynette could go back to her advertising career. Later Lynette became Tom's boss. How sarcastic.......(But I really believe Lynette is better than Tom.) Later on, Lynette found her husband had affair with a woman. It turned out that Tom had a 12-year old daughter. Since then, a struggle between two women was on show. Anyway, Lynette was the winner without any doubt. One day, Lynette and Nora, who was Kayla's mother, were trapped in the market ........

Born in the 1970s

Are you born in the 1970s? What's in your mind?
The 1970's is a significant age for China. During that age, many events have a great influence on the generations. The Great Tangshan Earthquake、reform and opening up、establishment of diplomatic relations、birth-control policy、restoration of college entrance examination system, etc. Those born in the 1970's are in his/her thirties now, they are conservative, strong responsible, iron-minded. Many people are excellant in different fields. They have many many memories. Favorite snacks, classic pop songs, simple toys, unforgettable cartoons laid a root in our mind. Esp. those well-know nursery rhymes, for example, Twinkle, twinkle, little star; News boy; One penny; Little swallow; Clever Yixiu; Two tigers; School song, etc.
This afternoon, I listened to Song of the Smurfs. The familiar rhythm hit me again. The group of small blue creatures, evil Gargamel and his pet cat Azrael, the wizard's castle, lol In fact, good memory can't fade away forever. It always hides in your deep heart, although a corner. Now, 2008, the 50th birthday of the Smurfs. It's said that The Smurfs will be shot as a 3D movie, maybe release in 2009. Expecting ...

Rhythm of the Rain

Raining, it is! Almost lasts one month or so. Sometimes pouring rain, sometimes gentle rain. When raining, what's your feeling? Humid, relaxed, or sad? Today, raining outside, listening to the old and classic English song ---Rhythm of the Rain, it is sentimental. Seems that it's easy to remind you of some bygone days. The hero recalled his lover and the past during the falling rain. Maybe rain always stirs our memory, esp. those melancholy. It's hard to tell whether it is rain drop or tears running on his face. He can't forget the girl who has left him. It is an extravagant hope to regain the girl. He hoped that the falling rain can give ear to his love and his calling, but it is vain. It doesn't help. Let bygones be bygones. Let it be momery.

Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain
Telling me just what a fool I've been
I wish that it would go and let me cry in vain
And let me be alone again
...
...
Rain, won't you tell her that I love her so
Please ask the sun to set her heart aglow
Rain in her heart and let the love we knew start to grow

Beautiful tulip!

A single tulip, your feeling? Is there something touching you?

Beautiful, isn't it? She's my favorite...She's like a coy girl. I am always curious about what's inside. Peel the petal one by one... what mystery is wating for me.

We associated tulips with Holland, as windmills. Tulips are a comfortable flower choice and one that expresses perfect love. Like many flowers, different colors of tulips also often carry their own significance. Every one has its charming. Taste carefully, maybe you will fall in love with her, too.

Friday again!

Friday again! It's an expecting day from Monday, lol. It means I can relax myself at once. As usual, I spend this day without any surprise or any difference. After work, I made up my mind to walk home. Enjoying the long lost sunshine, I was thinking of some private things. All the way, no many passerby, no many cars, it's good for self-communion. It took almost one hour to cook simply. To be frank, I dislike cooking. Cooking is so trouble instead of pleasant, I think. lol So I would like to find a Mr. Right who is good at cooking. Giggling. Maybe too tired, I fell into a state of half-awake when TV was on. Thanks to a call from young boy, I didn't miss today's blog. You know, I made a plan to blog every day, if I can.

French study

For a few months, I left French study behind. Forget much. Forgetness is really the big enemy of study. Just now I read several sentences, which went against my mind. Gosh. If this condition goes on, I can imagine what will be. I said to myself that I must pull up my socks. Cos of what happened in Paris during torch relay and attitude to Dalai, I had a bad impression on President Sarkozy and France now. Since he came into power, he was not friendly to Chinese. However, language is just language, it can't be connected to politics. Right?
Today, I reviewed some basic expressions. For example, Qui est-ce? Est-ce que c'est Fanny? Que fait-il? Ou habite-t-il? Qu'est-ce que c'est? Quelle est sa couleur? etc.

DH

Soon I will finish Desperate Housewives. So long way it is. Almost two and a half months. The play began with Mary Alice's suicide. Then she acted as a watcher, told us all the stories happened in the Wisteria Lane and people in the neighborhood. It went on mainly around 5 housewives: Susan, Lynette, Bree, Gabrielle and Edie. They are all characteristic. Among them Susan was just like a silly sister. I like her best. She was a writer for children. She always made a fool of herself. I always giggle for her carelessness. What I admire most is the relationship between Susan and her daughter Julie. Really just like friends. Close friends. I am surprised at American girls maturity. In addition, I am caring about Susan's love story. I am for Mike. He is virile. Giggle. But seems that some of them treat love casually. ........ So much for today. Later I will go on the rest.

Mysterious Chinese

It is said that Chinese is the most difficult to learn in the world. Different from other western languages, Chinese is a kinda hieroglyph. It is vivid and picturesque. The other day I chatted with Amulet on MSN. We mentioned the word pao (Chinese Pinyin), which means run (English). Amulet appreciate 跑 as a pretty picture!

Amulet: the character looks like a man running with a backpack on his back! He is running to the left...
Clara: the right part of 跑 is 包 包=bag=backpack
Amulet: that is what it looks like!
Clara: and left part of 跑 is 足 足= foot
Amulet: I am sitting here thinking . . .you are kidding ... how in the world would I learn this when there are 2 words in one picture? LOL

Dream on!

Today, I met a phrase "Dream on!". I think it useful in real life talking. Haha, do you know its meaning. Give you an example, and you can work out. So you want a rise? Dream on! Yep, it is used to tell someone that they are hoping for something that will not happen. Really an awesome expression.

From this, I pay attention to the word "dream". It's actually a fantastic word. When mentioning this word, what can you think?

Everyone can shout out " I have a dream " Maybe sometimes just a day dream, but as someone said it's better than nightmare. Maybe some day daydream comes true. Who knows...

Cos dream your dream...then so what? Your feeling? In fact, most of people expect to meet a people who they can walk with hand in hand.

A dream house. hehe Everyone perhaps dreamed a dream house nearby a quiet and picturesque lake. Surrounded with grassland, wildflowers, white fence, running ivy ......so glamour...

Let's be a dream weaver...

Health comes first

Nowadays, health comes first. Everyone tries their best to keep fit. Healthy eating, doing sports regularly, developing good habits, etc. Of course, they are all necessary. However, being in a high mood can't be neglected. We always fall into an odd circle. On the one hand, we do some which are harmful for health. For example, drinking much, smoking constantly. It's difficult to kick. On the other hand, we still look for ways to be healty. In fact, almost everyone has health problem more or less. So-called sub-health. According to WHO, 80% humans are under sub health condition. Then do something for yourself.

Little Prince

On this rainy day, I didn't go out for the weekend. Just stayed at home and read a book---Little Prince. Yes, I collected before long. The problem is , I read it from the beginning up to now.

It's a French novel. Very famous, even sometimes work as a textbook. Before reading, I am first attracted by the illustration. A boy with blond hair, blue mantle, and a sword. So cool! Absolutely. This book is a fable about life. It gives us some enlightenment. Just some simple languages, but enough to urge us to ponder deeply.
I copy some brilliant words from the Chinese version into my Chinese blog. ( I always think Chinese is easier to show its beauty. lol Who know? After all French version is origin. But I believe the Chinese translation version express what it is properly. ) Wish you like it, too. And benefit from it.

Inspiration fading away?

Inspiration is really elusory, difficult to trace and abstract. I have no idea how to catch it. It can't be controlled by ourselves. Recently I found that I was short of brilliant ideas during the work. Seems most of time, just a blank sheet. So annoyed. Maybe due to living comfortable life, so that I seldom thought anything over. My life falls into a set routine. I make a narrow circle for myself. As a matter of fact, for a long time, I haven't read a book carefully. TERRIBLE....

Story behind SEASONS IN THE SUN

Several years ago, when I heard Seasons in the Sun for the first time, I fell in love with it. I was addicted into her rhythm, singer's beautiful voice. At that time I didn't think over its lyrics, or its meaning. Just a kinda pure charming. So many years going on, today I listen to it once more, knowing the story behind it, I have a complete different feeling. If you tasted it attentively, you would be touched deeply.

It is said that this song is from a French chanson, which was finished by the famous composer Jacques Brel in 1961. Three years later, it was written in English named as Seasons in the Sun. Until 1873, Canadian singer Terry Jacks sang and made a hit in Canada and America.

It is a will. The author say goodbye to his lover, friends, papa, daughter who have ever share joy and sadness with him.

It is really an old story. Three persons, we call them A、B、C for the moment. In the countryside in the 1950s, they were classmates of a high school. A and C were good friends from the Childhood. B was a beautiful girl. It's easy to guess what happened in this kinda story. A and C fell in love with B at the same time. A was that kind of sunny, active, handsome boy. He was a jock, beloved by many young girls. He lived a happy and simple life. And the other way around, C was coy, withdrawn, good at drawing. He had been in loved with B for a long time before A & B were together. But nobody knew. It was be hidden deeply into his heart. After graduation, A joined the army, and C became a carpenter. One day after war, A came back to marry B, and then he was a cargo driver ... Of course A often went out for living. B ran the grocery store left by her grandma, so much need to be done. Naturally, C loaded the responsability of taking care of the mother and daughter. After a long time, it was just like what we imagined. A knew nothing about it because of his character, in addition to his love to wife, trust in friend. Until one snowy day, A went home on the half way, all came out in the wash. The whole things came to obvious ... Facing the betray, A was out of control and killed them. Deep into night, A gave himself up to police. Two months later, he was sentenced to first-degree murder. The death penalty would be done in early spring the next year. On the 3rd day before death, A wrote 3 passages, one for his best friend C, one for his father, the last for his four-year-old daughter. At the last minute of his life, he still regarded C as his best, believable friend.

It's hard to die ..........

Does FATE work?

In China, there are many old sayings related to FATE. For instance, Fate brings together people who are far apart. A couple's conjugal fate is prearranged. There is no meeting without predestination. and so on. Sometimes people take sth. which is difficult to explain as FATE. To be frank, I don't believe in it at all in the early days. I think it has no any grounds. But somebody told me that NOT all the the things has its cause and effect. Maybe. Maybe it is really a random world. In my childhood, I have ever seen a TV play New Legend of the White Snake, staring Zhao Yazhi. In that film the theme song is related to FATE. It lefe me a great impression at that time. lol Maybe your FATE is around the corner. Take your time.

Suffering hot days

After many rainy days, we greet the sunny day. Since June, 21, it is so hot these three days in Guangzhou. Today it is about 36 centigrade (the highest). Meantime, I pay more attention to other places, esp. my hometown. It's about 31 centigrade and cloudy in Harbin. In Rizhao, Shandong, only 20 centigrade and gentle rain. To be frank, rainy days and hot days are not my favorites. I am so poor to come to GZ. lol As you know, it is rain season from April to June in Guangzhou. I have no idea whether it is called Meiyu Season, or monsoon season. Following, hot days will last 4-5 months. So painful...... It is such bad weather that I would not like to go out, just stay at home. Is there any good ways to prevent sunstroke?

Settle down here

Now, Beijing Time 17:40, June 21st, 2008, I settle down here to start my English blog. Before this, I have ever had an English blog. However, due to some reasons, it doesn't work. It indeed gave me a big beat. I am sad for it for several days. I would not like to stop, so with the help of my friends, I come here to start my new blogging life. Wish all is the best.

I will record my life, my track, my thoughts, my all that I can tell. I want to retrieve those I wrote before. Who knows? Maybe it works.
